We all students experience difficulties when we take exams. Sometimes we are tempted to do cheating because of the need to pass the exam and the fear to fail and be embarrassed in the class. Can we blame ourselves why we take the risk even we know it is morally wrong?

There is a research that was published in the Journal of Experimental Psychology stating that those who cheated on exams did because of hormones that give courage and motivation. This serves as a warning to students who planned to take the risk during their next exams. Hormones can be the root cause of determining cheaters in exam. The moral development of a student is going to be less in terms of valuing honesty and of the ego making us away what we thought was wrong. The testosterone which is a body hormone gives rise to courage to take the risk in cheating and cortisol at the same time gives the motivation to do so.It is proven by the study in the University of Texas who took a sample students who will take a test on Mathematics, graded by their own performances knowing that it involves money if the more they got a correct answer.

Many believe on the statement that people tend to do cheating during the exam because of the higher chances of reward they can get. Based on the video we have watch entitled "The Shocking Reason Why People Cheat On Tests" by DNews leaded by Amy Shira Teitel showed a generalized facts and tips on how to lessen chances of cheating. She mentioned that cheating is linked to hormones reinforcing unethical behavior. It is good to know that the author's main point on the video does not scare the people who are prone to cheating. Instead, she encourages everyone to take yoga or any activities that gives less stress and alleviate healthy living. The author also mentioned that the testosterone decreased fear of punishment and increased sensitivities to reward making it a reason why students tend to cheat. Well it is because hormones are believed to be a powerful motivators to cheat. But, it is also noticeable that people who successfully cheated tend to have lower levels of cortisol with less emotional stress. With this, the author did not mention a good support or study that validates her claim that people who successfully cheated decreases emotional stress as well as levels of cortisol. It also lacks support on how the levels of testosterone also matter that was believed to be a motivator if it also decreased after successfully cheating the exam.Regarding on her claim that the reduction of stress triggered a powerful stimulation of the reward center of the brain, that effectively reinforcing unethical behavior is generally accepted.  It is because the person who successfully cheated received contentment, satisfaction and confidence. But how about those people who are caught cheating and was consulted after the exam? Do they have the chance to lower their cortisol levels? What will happen to them if they are being punished? As a recommendation, the article that they cited and the video that DNews published needs to mention also some important consequences on the people who are victims of cheating.Though, they give good tips on how to lessen it, it does not mean it is already effective, but giving encouragement of doing ethical behavior in exam is to be developed. the article that they cited and the video that DNews published needs to mention also some important consequences on the people who are victims of cheating. As a conclusion, cheating in exam is morally unethical. Though it tempted us to do because of the rewards we can get, it does not mean we are rewarded with high praise, but an embarrassment in self.  We are not to be blamed on these, we are humans, but our actions do. Do not make ourselves stressful and live a happy life.
